A few years ago (estimated in 2015) we bought a Sedona Combo dehydrator. We also needed it because we had my mother with us in care for a few things.
The device wasn't exactly cheap, but it's a good device and that was important to us at the time. In addition: it actually cost less euros back then.
But it had the impulses: it no longer started. I checked the fuse on the power supply, it was ok.
A search on the Internet did not find any remedy, it only contained repair instructions for the Combo 9000.
Ok, I kept researching and found a dealer who offers these devices and also provides service.
There I described the problem and it was known. The culprit in my case was suspected to be the power supply board. Ok, I have ordered a new one, I can cancel this order for 14 days by remote selling and send the goods back. So I don't take any risk of guesswork.
The circuit board arrived after 2 days, I was able to get down to work.
There are 2 housing covers on the back of the device: one that covers the entire device and is fastened with 6 screws and inside this cover a smaller one that was fastened with 4 screws.
The smaller cover was removed and then the following picture was revealed:
Well, of course, I wanted to test first whether it really was due to this board. So I didn't dismantle the old circuit board for the time being, but moved the connectors 1: 1 so that the new circuit board dangled around in front of the old one.
Then I made sure that there was no short one, to the horror of all electricians I pushed a little thicker cardboard between the two circuit boards. The copper coil of the now inactive old board should not cause an unintentional bridgehead.
After fiddling with changing the cables, I connected the device and voila: it worked again.
Ok, power off again and circuit board conversion. The old circuit board is attached with 4 screws. Simply unscrew this and pull the board out upwards. So you don't have to re-assemble the cable and remember the position of the individual cables. Then fix the new circuit board with 4 screws…. make absolutely sure not to pinch any cables. Then close the whole box again and the repair is done.
Sure, for the price of the replacement circuit board you can get a cheap dehydrator. But: this part is already very high quality and should not end up in the scrap even after this long period of operation.
And this is how it looks with the new 2020 board.

Incidentally, it is precisely because of this board defect that the device received a few stars on Amazon. It went on for a long time (the video from Andrea is from 2014 !!) and will continue to run.
