Before Julian Assange and Edward Snowden astonished the world with their revelations about secret US documents, the Canadian James Bacque published his book "Other Losses" as early as 1989. The US military historian Colonel Dr. Ernest F. Fisher. It is a detailed appraisal of how the US Army and the French Army were guilty of the deaths of around one million German prisoners of war - on the highest orders, but unnoticed by the world public. Together with the historian of the US Army, Bacque evaluated numerous American documents. They were able to prove that immediately after the German surrender, General Dwight Eisenhower, later President of the United States, had given the order to refuse food and shelter to the millions of German soldiers and civilian prisoners who were fenced off in the open air. The Morgenthau plan for the “pastoralization” of Germany (pastoralization = conversion to pastureland) was drafted in 1944 by Roosevelt and Churchill at a secret conference. It provided for the starvation of millions of prisoners of war and civilians - including the Germans displaced from the east. Under the guise of "reparations", industrial production sites were looted and everything that was still usable was transported away. Probably the largest patent theft of all time took place - especially through the kidnapping of German specialists and highly trained specialists. It was not until 1946 that the situation for the battered people improved somewhat thanks to an extraordinary international aid campaign. It was directed by the American Herbert Hoover ("Hoover Food") and the Canadian MacKenzie. The 60-minute documentary "Other Losses" - based on a total of three books by Bacque - shows astonishing and harrowing new visual material, supplemented by interviews with American commanders of the death camps and with German victims who survived these inhuman hardships.
